Keswick Flood Thursday 19th November 2009

Regular Striding Edge viewer Gill Bulch sent me these photos from Keswick this afternoon:

..."Keswick is now virtually cut off with flood water and the situation is now far far worse than in 2005. I went out at 9.30 this morning and it was fascinating. At 1pm I went out with camera and the situation was frightening with houses being evacuated. When firemen wear lifejackets it's serious stuff....In the 9 years I have lived here I have never seen the likes of this....and hours of rain still to come."

Karen, one of our suppliers to Love the Lakes lives near the River Greta in Keswick sent us these two photos from the end of her road - luckily she wasn't affected by the flood.
