Tuesday 12th July 2005
Start point: Kiln Bank Cross
(SD 215 933)
Kiln Bank Cross - Stickle Tarn -
Stickle Pike (OF)
-
Kiln Bank Cross
Distance: 1 mile
Total Ascent: 153 metres
Time Taken: 30 minutes
Weather: Sunny and very warm. 27oC.
After a short break, it was nice to get
back home and back to even hotter weather here than abroad! Of course,
there were lots of things to do today but I managed to escape for an
hour for a quick walk up to Stickle Pike with Angus who was glad to be
free again and to have a nice cooling swim.

Caw from the climb up to Stickle Tarn.

It was so hot today - straight in, no messing!

Great Stickle and the Duddon Estuary from the southern cairn on
Stickle Pike.

Harter Fell with the Sca Fells in cloud in the distance.

All this heat has made my tongue grow extra long.
