Lake District Inversion
I couldn't make it for a walk today, but I
did have to drive through the Lake District. Along the way,
it was clear that the whole of the southern half of the
Lakes was in temperature inversion, so I did manage to stop
for some roadside shots of the valleys under cloud.

The Troutbeck Valley with Troutbeck
Tongue, centre.

Ambleside and Windermere from the
Kirkstone Pass - interesting cloud formations.

...and closing in on the same view.

The mist sticking to the side of
Wansfell from the steep road known as 'The Struggle'.

Helm Crag from Dunmail Raise, above the
cloud.

Dunmail Raise.

...and from further up, the Vale of
Grasmere covered in cloud.
