 AngusDog Daze! - September 2008Casper

It was great to have made a bit of a comeback on the fells during September, but it also unfortunately heralded the retirement of Angus from any fell walking too. He is just too old now I'm afraid and I suppose it is something that comes to us all in the end (yikes!).

Dog Daze! seems to have grown in popularity of late and its appeal has also widened with the advent of photos that are not necessarily doggy in content but are just oddments that do not fit anywhere else. I hope you enjoy the latest thrilling instalment of the Dog Daze!

'Well this is a nice easy walk to start the month with. Jack's Rake!'

'How the heck did he get up there?'.

'Uh-oh, on second thoughts I don't care, he looks a bit tough that one. I'm not going that way!'.

'This is the way, follow me...if you can keep up'

'Well - hurry up then'. Casper likes to show what Beardies are made of.

'If I put my extremities in water, do you think I'll grow a bit more?'

'Sshhh - keep down, they've got us surrounded'.

'Roll up, roll up. Come and buy your magazines here'. Two spruced up Beardies, the mascots of Lake District Life magazine, on parade at the Westmorland County Show. Best behaviour please boys!

'My tongue's longer than yours, look.'

It had been a 'ruff' weekend for Rod Stewart.

'No one can see me, no one can see me, no one...'

'I'm telling you, there is no way you are getting me up there.'

Heeeelp, stop me. I'm sliding all the way down this scree sloooope...'

Sprinting the South Rake.

A fantastic sunset at Walney. More here if you missed this one.

Casper couldn't see the highest mountain in England anywhere...

Two legged Casper struggled to make it this far.

'Water.....water - this is the only puddle for miles and miles. Next we have to climb up (gulp) there!'.

We met up with long time StridingEdge fan Ewa (on holiday from Poland) in Kentmere.

Casper loving the adulation.

'and for my next trick...ta-da!' Casper is just as surprised at that one!

A beautiful day in Kentmere looking towards the Garburn Pass.

'This is where I spend my days now, in front of the fire. No more fells for me, worst luck'.

Remember what is used to be like Angus? Can anyone name the tarn? Watch the archive video
