Daze! - February 2009
We had a really wintry start to February and the Mosedale
Horseshoe walk we did in beautiful conditions was certainly the walk of
the year so far. The walk up to Lord's Rake was certainly the most
severe but none of this mattered to Casper who took it all in his stride
as befits his Beardie breeding. Angus made it up to Gummer's How, a fell
that he previously would hardly have noticed in years gone by and he laboured
up it that day, yet we took our time and it was good to have him back out with us
again. I'm sure his fans will be will be pleased to see him making a re-appearance on the page that
he started as 'The Angus Diaries', our behind the scenes look at the
out-takes from our adventures on the Lake District fells...

It was tiring walking up to Pillar in the deep snow. So
tiring in fact that Casper decided he would have a little snooze while
he waited for me.

The Greater Black and White Seal was far away from his
usual habitat.

Don't do it Casper!

The slush puppy.

The mountain goat shows how to do it on Steeple.

'Look how deep the snow is. The Scafells are
covered halfway up behind me!'.

'Giant steps are what you take...

...walking on the moon'.

Beardie big snozz.

'I picked up this stray on the climb....good job he has
his crampons on!'. Andy Lang and Casper on Hopegill Head.

Having fun rolling in the snow.

Caught in the act! Having just as much fun rolling in the
heather.

'Yes Casper lad, I was up on these fells when you weren't
even a twinkle in your mother's eye.'

A puzzled pair on Gummer's How.

Casper was pleased to have emerged safely from the long
dark tunnel.
