Route Map
It was predicted to be wet today but at
least it was still dry when I set of on an early walk up to Middle Fell
this morning. It was very dull and overcast though and the rain came
just as I dropped down to Greendale Tarn and that made the return leg a
damp and squelchy affair to say the least.

Buckbarrow across the shoulder high Bracken.

Which way to Middle fell Casper?

Buckbarrow and a berry laden Rowan.

Looking back to the Screes - this was the best view I
would get of them today!

Close up on the Screes.

Greendale.

Looking over Greendale towards the coast.

It looks a bit murky up there boys.

Casper and Dougal on the summit of Middle Fell.

Greendale Tarn from the direct descent to it - I could
hardly make it out through the mist until I was right upon it.

Down at Greendale Tarn.

Dougal Athletic crosses Greendale Gill.

The descent alongside Greendale Gill and it is
absolutely chucking it down now.

Cascades on the descent.
