Daze! - May 2011
May is a usually a busy month for me one way and another
and this year seemed even more hectic than usual. All this means I went
a bit AWOL as far as fell walking was concerned but I did manage to get
a few walks in with the boys, not all of them reported on the website as
you will see (though all are reported on
Facebook at the time, why not check out
my page to see what's happening around the Lake District?) I hope you enjoy the latest collection of
misfits and out takes, commonly known as the Dog Daze!

This is an April photo I found in the 'forgotten vaults'.
Castle Head, Keswick (NY 269 226) is an easy stroll from Love the Lakes
in St John's Street but one which gives great views of Derwent Water for
relatively little effort.

Another from the forgotten vault - Connie gets the
giggles whilst modelling the hat she made for our Royal Wedding street
party.

A panoramic view of the Duddon Estuary from Roanhead.

Dougal and Casper enjoying the sun, sea and sand.

Little Dougally Doo stands on big Casper to get a better
view.

Windermere sunshine through storm clouds.

Casper, submerged in Stickle Tarn...from a quick walk up
to Stickle Pike that didn't end up on the site.

Still, the summit was lip smackingly fantastic!

It was a bit blowy up on Great Burney (another walk that
didn't end up on the site!) so Dougal does the decent thing and shelters
behind Casper.

Keep your hair on Dougal!

Stand firm, hold your ground!

This is a major sheep poo alert...ohh, the ecstasy of it!

'Ahhh, that's better'.
Dog Daze! Wainwright count (out of 214)
Casper:214
Dougal:126
